Microgrid and Energy Storage applications may employ a mix of conventional and renewable generation resources combined with power conversion, DC storage and advanced power management.

• Utility systems capture off-peak baseload power or off-peak renewable resource capacity for use at peak
  periods.
• Facility systems capture off-peak utility power or off-peak renewable resource capacity for use at peak
  periods.
• Systems can optimize and decrease fuel consumption by conventional generation sources during
  emergency (standby) power periods
• Inherent short circuit current limiting by conversion electronics can be used to effectively decouple
  conventional generation from utility paralleled systems where short circuit contribution from distributed
  resources can cause grid problems (ex., urban spot network).
